When a pattern of carefully staged killings surfaces across Richmond, investigator Raymond Buck is pulled into a case that suggests the killer isn’t improvising, he’s selecting targets with intention. As Buck traces connections between victims who should have nothing in common, he uncovers a hidden structure behind the crimes that points to something larger than a single offender. The investigation forces Buck to confront how far someone will go to control a narrative, and what happens when the hunter becomes part of it.
book ii: the wolves know his name
As Buck’s reputation grows, so does resistance from those who prefer certain cases remain unsolved. When a new investigation intersects with individuals already aware of his work, and his weaknesses, Buck realizes he is no longer simply tracking suspects. Someone has begun tracking him. The deeper he pushes into the network forming around his investigations, the clearer it becomes that his name is no longer unknown in the circles he’s trying to expose.
book iii: when the hunter becomes the case
A routine investigation collapses into something far more personal when Buck discovers evidence suggesting he may be connected to a case long before he ever arrived on the scene. As pressure builds from both inside and outside the system, Buck must determine whether he is uncovering a conspiracy, or walking directly into one designed around him. The closer he gets to the truth, the harder it becomes to separate investigator from target.
book iv: the ninety-seven percent
Buck begins uncovering statistical anomalies across multiple investigations, cases closed too quickly, suspects eliminated too easily, conclusions accepted too confidently. When he follows the remaining three percent others overlooked, he discovers a pattern connecting incidents previously treated as unrelated. The numbers suggest something systemic, and someone is working hard to keep it that way.
book v: the contract
Evidence emerges pointing to a coordinated effort operating behind several major cases Buck has investigated. As he follows the trail toward the individuals responsible, he discovers agreements being enforced far outside the boundaries of law enforcement. The closer Buck gets to identifying the architects behind these arrangements, the clearer it becomes that someone has already anticipated his next move and prepared for it.
book vi: the last hunter
With alliances shifting and long-hidden motives finally revealed, Buck faces the culmination of the investigations that have followed him from the beginning. As the network behind the cases begins to fracture, he must decide whether dismantling it will end the conflict or confirm that he has been part of something much larger all along.
